    paspaley pearls sydney

When an invitation to a private appointment at Paspaley came up, I simply couldn’t resist. I had only been into the Paspaley store once before, it was while I was shooting Vogue’s online shopping night, I barely had time to catch my breath sort out my photo release forms, let alone browse.

This time round though, it was very different. With a glass of bubbly in hand (Before noon! Gasp!), I was lead away by the gorgeous Kate of Paspaley and Josh of Black Communications to explore the stunning store. Did you know it used to be a bank? It still has big vaults in the basement!

I do have to be honest and say, pearls strikes me as a bit old fashioned. My grandmother loves her pearls, she said it balances out your ying yang, or something like that. Of course Paspaley has many classic designs and amazing pearl strands, but when Kate showed me her favourite earrings (The ones above, oh so pretty), they really took my breath away. The gems, the pearls, everything sparkling at me! Something about them simply speaks to every girl’s heart, really, you need to see them in person! In fact, you need to see everything in person, photos just can’t quite capture the luster of the pearls.

For now I’ll have to content myself with these pretty photos and perhaps one day, those earrings shall be mine. In the meantime, Paspaley has just launched its revamped website, which showcases the heritage of Paspaley as well as an e-boutique. Be sure to check it out!

How can you resist a headline like that? Whatever you think it means!

One of my favourite Australian labels, Gorman has joined forces with artist Rachel Castle to bring out a perfect, quirky, colourful and super fun capsule collection. Consisting of t-shirts, singlets, skirts, beach towel, bags and more, this pretty much defines what I want to wear in summer. Something light and airy, something colourful and fun and something easy but also stylish.

I was at the launch party a few weeks ago to take in all the quirkiness!

The weather was miserable and it poured like there’s no tomorrow that night, but fortunately Sydney’s graced us with some amazing and sunny days lately, giving me the chance to whip out my Gorman x Castle towel. It brings a big grin to my face everytime!

Check out the Gorman x Castle capsule collection and also Rachel Castle’s amazing works!

mother father pr - AW12 media showings

These two amazing outfits are what greeted me as I stepped into Mother Father PR‘s Surry Hills office, definitely brightened my mood by at least 2 folds on that rainy day. Mother Father PR represents a big range of labels, lots of local designers too and most of them super colourful and fun! I took a peek at their latest collections for the upcoming autumn winter months and what I saw were amazing. Think crazy prints, leopard, stripes, checkers, lush knits, bright candy colours and deep rich hues. Wooo yes, I’ll take one of each please!

The highlight of the showing for me has got to be AD, a new diffusion line of An Ode to No One by Sydney designer Adi Setiadi. The garments are more youthful and of course more affordable than its big sister label, the prints and cuts are utterly amazing like the rest of Adi’s work. I for one will be lining up myself as soon as AD hits the shop floor!

Check out all the amazingness at Mother Father PR’s blog!

I had the pleasure of attending MCMPR’s autumn winter 2012 media showings a few weeks back. It was such fun taking peeks at what will be hitting the shops come next winter, the colour palates are darker and richer, the textures soft and gorgeous and the jewels ever so sparkly. I think I already got my eyes on a few pieces, come take a look with me!

A white Christmas filled with beautiful things and delicious food. Actually, no scrap that, I’m dreaming of a sunny and hot Christmas filled with beautiful things and delicious food. Hey presto, here’s one I prepared earlier! Thanks for turning on the good weather at last Sydney.

Parlour X Romance Was Born Christmas window

This is the amazing shop window at Parlour X in Paddington by Romance Was Born, it really just transports me to a snow filled Christmas. 2 years ago I spent my Christmas and new year in New York, it was white and utterly beautiful. A few days after Christmas, I woke up one morning, gazed out my apartment window, it was snowing and I shrilled! The snow flakes were huge and soft like duck down, I wrapped my doona around me, opened the window and scooped up a bit of snow just to make sure it was real. I had never seen anything like it. The streets, houses, driveways, cars, everything was covered with over 20cm of snow. It was perfectly quiet and peaceful, then I saw a little boy all rugged up walking his dog and I couldn’t help but smile.

There won’t be any snow around here, so to console ourselves, how cute are these necklace charms below by Servane Gaxotte at Parlour X?! Love!
