Much loved Sydney label Ginger and Smart have just dropped their first batch of autumn winter garments in stores. I went into their Paddington boutique and had a play! The new collection is called Curio, drawing influences from the world of the weird and the wonderful. The prints are gorgeous and the colour palette is pleasantly bright for an autumn winter collection which I absolutely love.

I styled these 2 looks with some of my favourite pieces from the collection. That mint sweater, oh to die for!

Gary Bigeni - Sydney mens street fashion & style

I have to be honest here, the first time I met Gary Bigeni, it was a bit of a shock. If you don’t know, even though you should know, Gary is a Sydney based womenswear designer, his label has become the epitome of luxe minimalist draping. His clothes are luxurious to wear, strikes the perfect balance between feminine and masculine, the draping makes you look and feel sexy without baring lots of skin. So it really was quite a shock when I saw his outrageously loud personal style! How can Gary’s personal aesthetics be so different to his designing aesthetics? Maybe I should interview him about it! Lots of people claim to love loud pattern clashing styles, but few are as brave as Gary, with his always electric coloured hair, penchant for creepers, Gary sure stands out in a crowd.

I found my perfect “work” dress at a Gary Bigeni’s sale recently. I discovered shooting at various events, that there seems to be a photographers’ uniform, black jeans and black shirt and black big ass camera bag. While it’s perfectly functional, but it isn’t chic, totally not chic! My solution, a simple black dress with unique details. It was one of those occasions where I knew exactly what I wanted, yet I had no idea what I wanted. After months of scouring boutiques, department stores and online, I turned up with nothing. In the end, Gary’s signature draping proved to be the perfect simple detail. This dress is fast becoming my uniform, a chic uniform!

    laneway festival sydney

It was my first time at Laneway Festival and it was such a lovely day! The sun broke out just for that day, the grounds at Sydney College of Arts added to the relaxed atmosphere and all in all, it was an amazing day! The music, the girls, the fashion and the music! So without further ado, here are my fav girls from the day.

Joanna Offord, medical student; T by Alexander Wang top, vintage Cacharel pants, The Horse shoes and Pendleton hat.

Joanna’s amazing pants above are vintage Cacharel that she got from her grandmother, which she’s cut up and tailored to suit herself. How perfectly on trend are they?! And the hat, actually all the hats! That was the look du jour, I’ve no idea how the girls pulled off felt hats on such a hot day, but then I did get sun burnt and is now suffering from a peeling nose. So it’s like sweat to death or burnt to death. Lol, I think next time I’ll take the sweat, cos a peeling nose isn’t a good look.

This summer has been anything but predictable, so much so I got used to tucking a scarf into my bag when I leave the house, just in case the weather turns and starts raining. A simple summer look can be easily glammed up with a faux fur scarf! Everyone’s got a printed t-shirt and a few cotton skirts, so why not take an easy step up.

Melbourne girls street fashion & style

There’s something about Melbourne girls and their black lipsticks! Something in the water I reckon, but they sure rock the look. Robecca is from New Zealand, now living in Melbourne and runs an up-cycle vintage shop, Sans Pareil, check her blog out too!

PS. Don’t you just love her t-shirt?! Queen of the fucking universe, hells yeah!
